Update on our Programme for 2020
Our visit to Hyde Hall RHS Garden, nr Chelmsford, on Saturday 16th May has been cancelled. We hope that it will be possible to arrange a visit later in the year.
We’re currently adopting a “wait and see” approach to The Hartfield Open Gardens weekend on Saturday 20th / Sunday 21st June and will provide an update next month.
As things stand, we’re planning on the basis that the Annual Show will go ahead with the Village Fete as scheduled on Saturday 5th September but we will not be printing the Show Schedule until we are confident that it will be taking place. In the meantime, an electronic version of the schedule is available to download from our website: www.hartfieldhortionline.co.uk so that you can decide what potentially prize-winning flowers, fruit and vegetables to sow and grow.
A report on our Social Evening on 27th March, including the talk on Daffodils by Geoff Ridley, will appear in the May edition as it took place after the copy deadline for this month’s Chronicle.
If you’re planning to buy seeds, plants, compost or other Spring gardening
essentials, members of the society can save by heading to one of these local
garden centres that offer the following discount to members:
● Ashdown Forest Garden Centre, Duddleswell – 10%
● Royal Mires Nursery, Lye Green, Crowborough – 10%
[Not special offers or multi-buy items]
● Orchard Nursery, Holtye Road East Grinstead – 5%
[Plants only, over £10]
