HATCH - Hartfield Action Together with Coleman's Hatch

Local Action

Screen Shot 2015-11-20 at 10.44.01St Mary's have worked together with Holy Trinity, Coleman's Hatch to create a community support group.  Called HATCH (Hartfield Action Together with Coleman’s Hatch) it was launched in February 2001.

This is an entirely voluntary organisation set up to offer neighbourly emergency help with everyday tasks including transport, shopping, light occasional garden, letter-writing, form-filling and giving carers a break for an hour or two.

Anyone faced with unexpected problems through illness, infirmity, accident or other hardship may contact the HATCH phone line on 01892 771331 with a request for help from the team of volunteers.  For example, transport could be requested for a medical appointment where public transport is not accessible; shopping could be brought for someone unable to leave their home.

No charge is made for the volunteer’s time – although HATCH will look for appropriate donations to help towards the cost of petrol for travel.

Call 01892 771331 on Monday, Wednesday or Friday 9.30am - 11.30 am.

Or call and leave a message.

The Annual General Meeting of HATCH (Hartfield Action Together with Coleman’s Hatch), our neighbourhood support scheme, will take place at 2pm on Wednesday, April 20th, following the Village Lunch on that day. Anyone interested in the work of HATCH, either from the point of view of a volunteer or that of a service user, is very welcome to come along to hear how HATCH has progressed in the 15 years since it was launched as a millennium project in 2001. More volunteers, including committee members, are always welcome - ring the Secretary, Enid Lambeth on 01892 770003.
