Local Action

St. Mary's have worked together with Holy Trinity, Coleman's Hatch to create a community support group.  Called HATCH (Hartfield Action Together with Coleman’s Hatch) it was launched in February 2001.

This is an entirely voluntary organisation set up to offer neighbourly emergency help with everyday tasks including transport, shopping, light occasional garden, letter-writing, form-filling and giving carers a break for an hour or two.

Anyone faced with unexpected problems through illness, infirmity, accident or other hardship may contact the HATCH phone line on 01892 771331 with a request for help from the team of volunteers.  For example, transport could be requested for a medical appointment where public transport is not accessible; shopping could be brought for someone unable to leave their home.

No charge is made for the volunteer’s time – although HATCH will look for appropriate donations to help towards the cost of petrol for travel.

Parish Magazine

The Hartfield and Coleman's Hatch Chronicle is published monthly and carries information and news about church and community activities. The magazine is edited by David Graham.

Our School

St Mary the Virgin Church of England School is an Aided School.  The majority of governors are appointed by the Church and they have the responsibility of ensuring the smooth running of the School.  The Rector visits the School weekly.  The school has around 120 pupils of primary age in five classes.  There is a school service in the Church every week in term time and the Rector takes lessons within the School.
